Visitation and Services
A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday July 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with the Rev. Kenneth Bryant and Janice Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkies Grove Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 3:00-4:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.
Pallbearers will be her relatives Kevin Clark, Caleb Carpenter, Tim Seagle, Rick Buff, Larry Huffman, and Junior Thorne.
Hettie Lou McNeely Roberts, 85, of Hickory, passed away Sunday July 15, 2012 following a period of declining health.
Hettie was born on November 1, 1926 in Cleveland County to the late Julius Marvin and Mary Elizabeth Earl McNeely. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for more than fifteen years. She was also a member of the Senior Bowling League at Colonial Lanes.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother David James Franklin McNeely.
Survivors include her husband Willie “Bob” Warren Roberts of the home, daughters Marilyn Clark and Melody Carpenter; sisters Ruby Huffman, Effie Thorne, Vernie Huffman, Lillie Bolick, and Mamie McNeely; four grandchildren Carmen, Kevin, Kelsie, Calab, five great grandchildren Jessica, Ryan, McKennize, Sarah and Logan, two great-great grandchildren Ezekiel and Elija. Also surviving are sixteen nieces and nephews.
