Visitation and Services
A life celebration service will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Danny Wilburn officiating. Private burial will follow in Belden First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to service time.
Pallbearers will be Elmer Gilland, John Gilland, Eddie Ellis, Daniel T. Williams, Josh Kennedy and Chris Posey. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Anglin, John Morgan Gilland, Tristan Gilland, Dakota Gilland, Ricky Ellis, Randy Ellis, Eddie Allen Ellis, Randy Jo Quartario, Ben Parmer, Mike Parmer, Dustin Williams and Donovan Phillips.
Belden – Justin “IcyWyte” Matthew Gilland, 22, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at North MS Medical Center due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Tupelo August 29, 1989 to James “Lem” Gilland and Lisa Summers Gilland. He attended Tupelo High School and was employed by Ashley Furniture Manufacturing where he worked in shipping and receiving. IcyWyte loved music of all kinds and was known all over the country for his musical talent, playing in clubs such as the Hard Rock Cafe. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, photography, cooking and most of all, the beach. He had many friends and family who loved him dearly and will miss him sorely. He attended Belden First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his father and mother, Lem and Lisa Gilland; Girlfriend and mother of his child, Nikki Parmer of Belden; one newborn son, Skylar Matthew Lee Gilland; one brother, Chris Gilland (fiancé – Jenny Schulman) of Tupelo; grandparents, Trent and Martha Summers of Belden; great aunt, Ann Stokes of Belden;aunt, Jennifer Kyle (Tim) of Blue Springs; nephew, Kayleb Gilland of Tupelo; uncles, Dave Gilland of Saltillo, John Gilland of Mooreville, Elmer Gilland (Anita) of Mooreville, Raymond Anglin (BethAnn) of Pontotoc, Gene Anglin and Dale Anglin, both of Detroit, MI; aunts, Shirley Russell of Detroit, MI, Pat Anglin and Gail Anglin, both of the Richmond Community, Micky Gilland of Tupelo, Carol Gilland of Hamilton, AL and Dorothy Quartaro (Jack) of Fulton and a host of other near relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Opale Walls Gilland, great-grandparents, Juan and Alva Herring Stokes, Lem and Lydia Gilland and Walter and Ivy Murphy Summers and aunt, Opale Sue Gilland.
