Rev. Troy Hedges will conduct private family graveside services Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the New Prospect Cemetery with interment to follow.
Family and friends may call at the Vail-Holt Funeral Homes, Hanover Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, July 19, 2010.
Obituary
Wilma M. (McDonald) Moore, age 94 of Hanover, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital.
Born December 21, 1915 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, she was the daughter of Edward and Laura (Blackford) McDonald, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil J. Moore on December 23, 1993; one daughter, Betty J. Wehner on December 3, 1996; one granddaughter, Pamela Wehner; one grandson, Gerald Wesley Wehner; one sister, Mary Jane Bare; four brothers, Russell, Clifford, Robert “Bob” and Edward McDonald.
Mrs. Moore formerly worked at the Charlestown Powder Plant and managed the women’s apparel department at Mill’s Department Store for twenty-five years. She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Hanover Chapter #525 and she was a former 4-H Club Leader. She enjoyed the art work of making ceramic pottery.
Survivors include one son, William L. Moore and his wife, Gloria of Hanover; six grandchildren, William J. Moore. Robert J. Moore, Marcella Nuffer, Jason Wehner, Larry Wehner and John Wehner; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preferred Charities and Donations
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the New Prospect Cemetery Association. Contribution cards will be available at the Vail-Holt Funeral Home.
