Mr. Jacob Blackburn Edfeldt, age 21, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Powder Springs First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Woods and Rev. David Roland officiating. Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park. A 2006 graduate of McEachern High School, Jacob was currently a student at Shorter College and was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He was also a member of the Powder Springs First Baptist Church. Despite a lifetime of health issues, including being born with the severest of heart defects, experiencing numerous open-heart surgeries, and two heart transplants, Jacob took on life ferociously with every challenge and opportunity placed before him. Now, he takes on life eternally. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Karen Edfeldt of Marietta; brother, Ben Edfeldt of Wichita Falls, TX; sister, Katie Edfeldt of Cumming; maternal grandmother, Mary Nan Carroll of Orlando, FL; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Martha Edfeldt of Huntsville, AL; a nephew and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive visitors at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.
